Tangkaan has always been on my visiting list while in Southern Leyte. My family and I actually went over a dozen times during a period of 2 months in there. and we LOVED it ! We often arrived in the morning, paid our PhP5.00 fee per person and enjoyed the day along the beach ; the kids in the crystal clear waters, the parents on the beach with a glass of beer! We then left at sunset after a quiet day. Snorkeling is always fantastic ... the currents can sometimes be strong, but beautiful corals and sea life can be seen there. My daughter (aged 7) was able to see sea turtles, less than 10 meters from the shore! Finally, we were often disappointed the place got dirty because people left their trash on site ... but that is not the fault of the people in charge who do a great job in keeping this beach a little paradise!
